How To Enter DV-2021
The long-awaited DV-2021 Entry Period is finally ongoing. It began at 4:00 P.M. (16 Hours) GMT on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, and will end on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
Prerequisites
During this one month period, people from all around the world can submit their online entries using the official DV website, provided they meet the following prerequisites:
1. are born in a country that is on the list of eligible countries for the 2021 Diversity Visa Program.
In case one was not born in an eligible country, there are two other ways he/she may qualify to enter DV-2021. Discover those ways by reading a previous article of ours, concerning entering the DV Program.
2. have completed secondary school or have worked for at least two years during the last five years, in a profession that requires at least two years of training or experience
3. (just introduced this year) are in possession of a valid unexpired passport.
How to Enter
You enter the DV-2021 Lottery by accessing, filling in and eventually submitting the Diversity Visa Entry form, available on the official Diversity Visa website for the duration indicated above. You could also make use of our DV-2021 Entry submission service, in case you are not capable of submitting your entry all alone.
After the specified period, the DV Entry form will no longer be accessible. Those who do not enter during said period will NOT be a part of DV-2021. The next entry period will begin a year from now.
Once you click on the link above, you will land on the Welcome page shown below.
Clicking the green Begin Entry button, just below the Photo Examples button, is the way to access the form. You will first be led to a CAPTCHA code page where you will have to type in the text shown and click the Submit button, to gain access to the Entry form, which comprises two parts: a part for the Primary Entrant and the other, for Secondary Entrant(s), if any.
Read carefully, and fill in all fields accordingly. At the end of the form, click Continue. It will either take you to the Review page (in case you do not have any secondary entrants), where you would review your information entered for possible corrections and / or eventual submission; or to the Secondary entrant(s) part where you will enter information concerning your secondary entrants (in case there is/are any). The Secondary Entrants page leads to the Review page where you would have to do as described above.
A Cancel button also exists just beside the Submit button in case you do not wish to submit your entry at a given moment.

The Photo
The DV photo is the most technical/challenging part of the entry process. It has both compositional and technical requirements which MUST be adhered to, if the entry has to qualify. Those requirements are explained in detail in the full DV-2021 instructions mentioned above.
The Entry Submission Confirmation Page
Immediately after submitting your entry, an entry submission confirmation page will appear on your screen. Print that page or take record of its contents – especially the Confirmation Number – and keep it until after the results are released on May 5, 2020, at which time you would need it, in order to know whether your entry was selected or not.
An Alternative
Although detailed explanation on entering DV-2021 is available on the official DV website, some indivuduals prefer “delegating” DV-related tasks to DV services for personal reasons.
