The Visa Bulletin for December 2024 has been published, showing the cut-off numbers that will apply in January 2025. In this Visa Bulletin, the cut-off numbers of all regions and exception countries have increased, with most experiencing a leap. The most unusual is the North America region which increased from 2 for the month of December to 20 for January. This abnormal occurrence is most likely an error that would end up being rectified.

January Cut-Offs

Below are the cut-off numbers that will apply in the DV 2025 Program during the month of January 2025:

What it means

The January cut-off numbers – as they have been established – means that case numbers that are eligible for January 2025 interviews are as follows:

AFRICA: Case Numbers up to and including 22,499;

For the Africa region’s exception countries (ALGERIA, EGYPT and MOROCCO), January interview-eligible case numbers are  case numbers up to 21,999.

ASIA: Case Numbers up to 5,499;

For the Asia region’s exception countries (IRAN and NEPAL), case numbers eligible for January interviews are case numbers up to 5,399 and 3,499, respectively;

EUROPE: Case Numbers up to 11,999;

Except: RUSSIA: Case Numbers up to 11,749 and UZBEKISTAN: Case Numbers up to 7,749;

NORTH AMERICA: Case Numbers up to 19; (Note: 20 Cut-Off, most likely an error!)

OCEANIA: Case Numbers up to 1,099;

SOUTH AMERICA: Case Numbers up to 1,749.

Important: A case number being eligible for interview for a given month does not mean that the case concerned will be interviewed during the month in question at all cost. It may well be; it may also not be. In addition to the case number being eligible for interview, other factors contribute to determining when the case concerned will actually be interviewed.

Cases Not Yet Eligible

Cases whose case numbers are the same or higher than their region or country cut-off shown above are not eligible for January 2025 interviews; applicants concerned should consider their cut-off number when the next visa Bulletin is published (anytime from December 7th to 15th) to ascertain their status. The cut-offs to be revealed in that Visa Bulletin will concern FEBRUARY 2025, the fifth month of  interviews in the DV 2025 Program.
