DV 2025: Scheduling of Interviews Ending Soon!
DV 2025 interviews will not continue to be scheduled into the second half of August. By mid-August, all DV 2025 interviews will have been scheduled.

Diversity Visa Reality
The DV 2025 Program which began on October 1, 2024 now has just under two months to come to an end. It will end on September 30, 2025. This date concerns the CONDUCT (and NOT THE SCHEDULING) of interviews!
Another Reality
Another reality of the Diversity Visa Program is that interviews are generally conducted during the second month after they are scheduled. For example, interviews which were scheduled in May 2025 generally took place (or were conducted) in July 2025. Those that are now taking place – in this month, August 2025 – were generally scheduled in June 2025; and those that will take place in September 2025 – the final month in the DV 2025 Program – were generally scheduled in July 2025. As such, July 31 is considered the official end of the scheduling of Diversity Visa interviews. (See this article I published some years back for more insight).
“Late Scheduling”
In spite of this “second-month” reality, a handful of interviews still happen to get scheduled during the first, and sometimes, the second week of the month before the interviews take place. So, at the beginning of June, for example, you could have a few July interviews scheduled, etc. Currently, we are in the first week of August. Interviews to be held in September have therefore for the most part been scheduled already. And so only a handful of interviews for September are still left to be scheduled.
And September being the final month of the DV 2025 Program, this means that the interviews in question are the final interviews for DV 2025.
Not all embassies
The few interviews left to be scheduled do not concern all embassies. As a matter of fact, scheduling of interviews for most embassies and consulates has already ended. In other words, KCC will not schedule any more DV-2025 interviews for most embassies and consulates. It’s just at a very few that the remaining handful of interviews will be scheduled. Those interviews, being “late-scheduled” ones, as explained above, will take place in September 2025.
Don’t be confused!
Now, many applicants get confused over this reality. Knowing that the Diversity Visa Program year ends on September 30, they think that they have the chance of being scheduled for interview up to that date. No, that’s not how it works. It may have worked in that way in recent years. But that was one of the impacts of COVID-19: interviews continued to be scheduled far beyond the official end of July deadline; in some cases even into the month of September.
But the Diversity Visa Program is recovering from the effects of the pandemic, and unless there’s a major event that obstructs how the Program functions, the scheduling of interviews should end before or at most at the publication of the Visa Bulletin in August.
The Reality
So in case your interview is not scheduled after next week, the second week of August, then don’t expect it to be, anytime later. DV 2025 interviews will not continue to be scheduled into the second half of August. By mid-August, all DV 2025 interviews will have been scheduled. What will be left and which should continue to the end of September will just be the conduct of those interviews that had previously been scheduled.
That’s how things should normally work in the Diversity Visa Program, and that’s what’s going on at the moment.
